The Roberts' Family Exploration
June 16

June 16, 2000

Today is Friday, and we went to Malaysia, just to say that we have been there.

It took us over an hour and a half to get through immigration because it was a school holiday and there were hundreds going to Malaysia also. We went to two mosques, a handicraft center and visited an average family home. A causeway joins the two countries. They used to be united as one country. Singapore seceded form the rest of Malaysia. In both counties there is a great shortage of labor.

Later we went up to the 70th floor in the Westin Hotel.and took some pictures. Then we went to Raffles Hotel for dinner. Raffles is known for the Singapore Sling. Sir Raffles is said to have started Singapore. Then went back to the hotel and went to bed.
